Childcare Network owns and operates more than 165 childcare centers from Texas to Florida. The central office was facing a growing problem managing applicant resumes. The corporate HR staff was stretched thin. They were reviewing every resume that was submitted for consideration and then sending it on to the correct location for further evaluation.
In July 2009 Childcare Network implemented the NewHire Advantage extended use license. Standardized pre-employment questionnaires were implemented for every job title. As part of the roll out, user groups were created for each district and for many individual locations. Site directors and regional managers were trained to use the system. Now every regional manager or site director was able to view, sort, screen and track applicants who had expressed interest in working at that location, for a specific open position. Corporate HR staff ensured that there was a flow of applicants for each open position. Local managers now could find appropriate candidates quickly, and screened them for employment qualifications.
During the first three full months they used NewHire, 12,500 applicants applied for employment with Childcare Network! Imagine how much paper was saved. Imagine the time savings --just in email communications between corporate HR and regional managers. The corporate HR staff was able to focus on other issues. They could now leave the hiring decisions to the local and area managers.
