Path is seeking an Estimator / Pre- Construction Manager for our Chicago Operating Group to gather, calculate, and compile data to produce project estimates and lead pre-construction activities.  This position will take a project from a napkin design, to budgeting, and finally the estimation of a complete design ready for construction.  Projects magnitudes will vary in the $5mil - $100mil range.

Duties for an Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager include:
·      Complete quantity takeoffs and summations of materials
·      Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets
·      Help in preparing, organizing, and coordinating Request for Proposal documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor's and other schedule-driven items
·      Determine all pricing options and the appropriate price for the project
·      Pre-construction activities such as subcontractor pre-qualifications, running pre-construction meetings, and value engineering
·      Establishing budget controls and assuming responsibility for profits and losses
·      Establishing preliminary construction schedules
·      Review design documents and verify complete and accurate scopes
·      Review design documents and identify scope items with cost implications
·      Identify and resolve design conflicts and missing information by preparing, tracking, submitting, and distributing preconstruction RFI’s

Requirements
Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager must have the following experience and be proficient in the use and execution of the following systems:
·      7+ years of building construction estimating experience
·      Degree in engineering or construction management preferred
·      Proficient in estimating and scheduling
·      Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software: Microsoft Excel, ISqFt, WinEst/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
·      Proficient in Pre-Construction standards and procedures
·      Expert in building systems and assemblies
·      Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
·      Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment and grow the company
·      Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
