Position Description: To plan, prepare and present menu items during service of the cafeteria to the standards set by chef/manager. Also, to prepare production lists for staff of items needed for execution of menus. Assist and lead in the day to day operations of the kitchen with staff
                                                             
Responsibilities:
● Report to scheduled shift on time and in complete uniform as outlined in the Quest employee handbook.                                                                                                                
● Complete comprehension with the assembly and presentation of all menu items.  Follow Quest, local, State and Federal guidelines for the proper handling of food products.                  
● Emphasis will be placed on the HACCP System of food inspection.  Assist in the overall sanitation of the line and product kitchen and lead as a role model to the team.
● Maintain open and effective communication with management and staff.                                  
● Accountable that all items prepared are to standardized recipes.
● Properly expand and/or divide recipes as needed to achieve proper yields.                               
● Accountable for master recipe index and creating weekly / monthly menus.                              
● Accountable for all food ordering and maintaining par levels based on weekly menus.                      
● Assist & oversee the overall sanitation of the production kitchen and production facility.        
● Stay on top of trends and incorporate in weekly / monthly menus.                       
● Responsible for daily and weekly cleaning schedules and holding team accountable.                       
● Perform other duties on checklist and assigned by manager. (Location specific job checklist attached)

The successful candidate will have the following background:
 
Career Level:                                               ● Minimum of five years Lead / Line Cook Experience.      
Areas of Foodservice Focus:                 ● Schools/ Higher Education 
Education:                                                   ● AA degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience                                                                                                            
 
Desired Qualifications:
● Outgoing, friendly and customer focused.                                                                                         
● Demonstrates leadership abilities and must be a team player.                                                       
● Comprehension of English language and good communication skills.                                       
● Works with speed, consistency and organization.                                                                            
● Comfortable and pleasant demeanor in very busy environments.
● Follow all policies in the employee handbook & all Illinois food safety guidelines
● Strong knife skills
 
Eligibility Requirements:
● You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
● You must be willing to submit to a back ground investigation as part of the selection process.
● You must submit to a TB test as part of the selection process.
● You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
