As we grow, the average size and dollar value of the projects we take on is increasing as well.  We’re looking for a Electrical Estimator with the experience to help us meet that growth. 

 

Hawkins Electric offers our Electrical Estimator the stability of a well-established industry leader, coupled with the aggressiveness of a company named to SmartCEO Magazine’s “Five On Fire” list for 2008-09.  Some of our high profile projects include: The J. F. Kennedy Center, The Jefferson Memorial and USA Today, as well as multiple design-builds for the FAA, numerous area medical facilities, which include MRI rooms, cancer treatment centers and many notable tenant build-outs and new construction condominium projects.  Join our team to help us bid and win other high profile projects like these.

 

We have a fun, friendly, highly motivated office environment, and we’re looking for a Estimator who is going to work well on our team.  We’re offering a competitive annual salary, depending on experience, along with very generous health and dental plans, 401(k), paid holidays, and vacation options.

 

The Electrical Estimator has the overall responsibility for preparing accurate, comprehensive, and competitive bids for specific projects. The Estimator will work closely with engineers and architects, reading schematics and blueprints to prepare a complete list of all electrical job costs, including: amount of materials, equipment, specialty items and labor necessary for the electrical phase of a project.  Knowledge of electrical and general construction techniques and proper scheduling of purchases and work are essential skills.

Authorities and Responsibilities

Hawkins Electric Service’s Electrical Estimator will oversee the bidding process from beginning to end, including:

Ø      Determine appropriate projects for bid;

Ø      Complete Approved Estimates in a timely manner;

Ø      Professionally position Hawkins Electric to be the vendor of choice;

Ø      Complete Change-Orders with 48 hour or less turn-around;

Ø      Understand the details of each project to ensure complete and accurate take offs; 

Ø      Review physical constraints at the site, insurance required;

Ø      Obtain multiple pricing from vendors for gear, lighting, etc.;

Ø      Analyze and compile data on each factor that may have an influence on cost;

Ø      Regularly follow-up on presented bids.
