VENTOWER Industries, LLC (www.ventower.com) is hiring Blaster/Painters.  We prefer to hire candidates that are experienced and proficient in the manufacture of utility scale steel towers.  Join our collaborative team environment; bring your strong work ethic and dedication to safety and efficiency to help us meet our production and delivery goals.   VENTOWER is a full service fabricator and supplier of utility scale, wind turbine towers.  Our brand new, state of the art facility is equipped with the most technologically advanced fabrication and industrial coating equipment.  We continue to ramp up our production and will soon fully staff a second shift.  When we reach full capacity we will run 3 shifts with about 200 employees and deliver several hundred tower sections per year.  As we grow, there will be opportunities for advancement through demonstrated leadership and training. The Blaster/Painter is instrumental in the efficient, timely delivery of blasted and painted utility scale steel wind tower sections.  The incumbent must excel in a team environment, exercise sound judgment, be able to follow sequential procedures and have an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality.  The ability to read specifications and shop drawings is a must.  All work is performed manually and requires the use of body suits with respirators or supplied air. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Adherence to all safety procedures, work instructions and quality specifications. Operate high-pressure blasting equipment to impart a specific surface profile to the inside and outside of steel tower sections. Apply heavy spray paint to various metal surfaces. Load and unload tower sections using overhead cranes with various attachments. Participate in work teams to maximize operational efficiency. Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders and procedures. Contribute to the continuous improvement process. Maintain exceptional housekeeping, orderliness and cleanliness standards. Qualifications: Formal training in industrial coating applications, at least one year of experience in an industrial blasting or coating environment; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with airless systems, zinc, epoxy and urethane applications. Excellent paint application skills. Very good visual acuity for texture and color. Knowledge of heavy equipment, crane and rigging principles. Additional Notes: RESIDENTIAL PAINT EXPERIENCE ALONE DOES NOT QUALIFY AN INDIVIDUAL FOR THIS POSITION. Preference may be given to candidates with blasting/painting experience in a wind tower manufacturing plant. Paint crew leadership experience is preferred. NACE certification is preferred.
