Downtown Walnut Creek Hardware is the premier destination in Walnut Creek and the surrounding areas for home and garden. We carry brand name products such as Weber®, Klein®, Carhartt® and Craftsman®.  We have a full nursery, a full patio and barbeque department, and a large selection of gifts.


The store is family owned and operated, and has a large fan base of local customers which makes it a fun and rewarding place to work. Many employees have been here since the store opened and all of us take pride in the store’s success.


We are looking for great employees in all categories. We have good training programs and experienced mentors, so experience is not our first priority. We are more interested in personal integrity and the ability to enjoy working with people in a busy environment.


Our positions are as follows:


CREW:  Stock freight, build product, load product into customer vehicles, deliver product to customers’ homes. Lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular daily basis is a primary part of this position.


CASHIER:  Ring up transactions accurately, support all Ace Programs, such as Ace Rewards, answer phones, greet and thank customers. Answer customer questions about product locations.


ASSOCIATE:  Help customers locate what they need, suggest related items and provide technical assistance. Maintain stock levels on shelves and manage freight as assigned. Associates are required to learn how to look up information in our computer system, cut keys, process special orders, mix paint and operate a cash register.

GARDEN ASSOCIATE: In addition to the skills listed above, must be  knowledgeable about plants, soils, additives etc. 

MARKETING/MERCHANDISER:  A retail professional, familiar with the EPICOR Eagle System, who can manage a paper advertisement schedule, manage the ordering and receiving of ad merchandise, oversee the buying of a wide variety of products, build attractive merchandising displays, analyze and implement pricing strategies, and physically be able to implement merchandising when needed, be a keyholder and have great people skills.


All positions start out at part time (0-29 hours)


Minimum Requirements:


High School diploma/GED.

Ability to effectively use email.

Proficiency in written and verbal communications.

Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Ability to stand and move for an extended period of time.
